Sustainability Task Force

President's Advisory Task Force on Sustainability

In October 2007, the university president appointed 11 members to the President's Advisory Task Force on Sustainability. The task force, chaired by Associate Professor of Environmental Studies David Hassenzahl, was charged with promoting environmental management and sustainable development at UNLV and with recommending specific activities to the president to allow UNLV to appropriately address sustainability issues for the future. The task force completed its activities on June 30, 2008.  In 2009, a UNLV Sustainability Council was appointed to continue the work initiated by the task force.
